Monte Regen Hub

Regenerating soil. Restoring ecosystems.
Cultivating the future.

The Monte Regen Hub was born from a simple belief: when we regenerate soil, we regenerate the future.
Located at Monte Silveira Estate, in Castelo Branco, Portugal, the Monte Regen Hub is a space for experimentation, learning, and collaboration dedicated to regenerative agriculture. Here we test agricultural practices that regenerate soil, increase biodiversity, and strengthen the resilience of agricultural landscapes in the face of climate change.
More than a project, the Monte Regen Hub is a community, a meeting point for farmers, researchers, students, and entrepreneurs who believe it is possible to produce food while restoring the ecosystems we depend on.

What we do

At Monte Regen Hub we work at the intersection of agriculture, science, and community.
Through field experimentation, applied research, and training programs, we aim to develop and share regenerative solutions that can be replicated in other regions.
Our goal is to demonstrate that it is possible to farm productively while regenerating soil, restoring biodiversity, and strengthening rural communities.

Our goals

Regenerate soil
Test and implement regenerative practices such as permanent soil cover, crop rotation, agroforestry, and regenerative grazing.

Produce knowledge
Monitor soil health and agricultural ecosystems in collaboration with universities and research centres.

Empower people
Organise workshops, field days, training programmes, and internships for farmers, students, and professionals.

Create impact
Develop regenerative farming models that can be replicated in territories vulnerable to desertification.

Monte Regen Hub- Os nossos objetivos
Um laboratório vivo

A living lab

Monte Regen Hub functions as a lighthouse farm.

Monte Regen Hub functions as a lighthouse farm, a place where new approaches to regenerative agriculture are tested and demonstrated in the field.
Here we experiment with practices that improve soil structure and fertility, increase water retention, promote biodiversity and foster carbon sequestration. At the same time, we measure and monitor results to better understand the impact of these practices.
This knowledge is then shared with farmers, researchers, and communities seeking to transform their agricultural systems.

A network of collaboration

Monte Regen Hub is built in partnership with organisations that share the same vision.

Monte Silveira
Project coordination and implementation of regenerative practices

Universidade de Coimbra
Research on soil ecology, biodiversity, and ecosystem restoration.

Regeneration Academy
Training and education programmes and implementation of regenerative practices.

Together, we are building a network that connects scientific knowledge, farming practice, and innovation.

Think global, act local

Monte Regen Hub contributes to international initiatives dedicated to soil regeneration and agroecological transition, including the European mission “A Soil Deal for Europe” and several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
We believe that soil regeneration is one of the keys to addressing some of the greatest challenges of our time, from biodiversity loss to climate change.

Pensar global, agir local

Join us

If you are a farmer, researcher, student, or simply someone interested in the future of agriculture, Monte Regen Hub is open to you.

Join our workshops, visit the farm, or explore opportunities for collaboration.
Because regenerating soil is a collective effort.

The Monte Regen Hub project (PL25-00042) is supported by the Promove Program of the “La Caixa” Foundation, in collaboration with BPI and the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
